The Broncos want to close the gap between them and the league’s top contenders. From drafting a running back and linebacker to adding a veteran tight end, here are a few moves Denver could make to achieve its goal.
Extend DE Zach Allen
Allen is entering the final year of his three-year, $45.7 million deal, and it could make sense for Denver to negotiate a long-term contract.
For the second time in less than two weeks, the Colorado Avalanche had a chance to gain ground on a wounded Minnesota Wild team.
The first meeting was one of the Avs’ best performances of the season. What transpired Monday afternoon at Ball Arena would be much closer to the bottom of that list.
Some of the issues that looked fixed two days ago in a decisive win against the Dallas Stars were again troubling for the Avs in a 3-1 loss to the Wild.
“It was a struggle to create offense,” Avs coach Jared Bednar said.
NEWARK, N. J. — Lauren Betts had 24 points, nine rebounds and a school-record nine blocks to help No. 1 UCLA beat 25th-ranked Baylor 72-57 on Monday in the inaugural Coretta Scott King Classic.
The doubleheader that also featured No. 7 Texas and eighth-ranked Maryland was created to honor King’s legacy and celebrate female empowerment in sports.
Renck: The cold was giving way to darkness as the Broncos walked to their team bus in Orchard Park, N. Y., the raw afternoon and a sobbing autograph seeker signaling the end of Denver’s season. There is no quaint location when the lights go out, least of all upstate New York.
