Warriors extend their season with Game 5 win over OKC Down to their last basketball breath, the Warriors earned a 120-111 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 5 at boisterous Oracle Arena. Stephen Curry scored 31 points, Klay Thompson added 27 and Andrew Bogut had his best game of the playoffs with 15 points and 14 rebounds. The Warriors led 58-50 at halftime, but Oklahoma City came out energized and put together a quick 9-2 third-quarter run fueled, in part, by Draymond Green’s technical foul. Green animatedly protested when he was called for a foul on Durant’s three-point attempt. If the Warriors seemed tight Tuesday night in Oklahoma City - and they did - they found a slice of serenity at home in Oakland. Durant and Westbrook helped by starting a collective 2-for-15 from the field, but maybe some of this inefficiency started with the Warriors cranking up their D. Meantime, the Warriors became their old, active, cutting selves on offense. [...] Durant and Westbrook soon rediscovered their shooting touch, as you would expect, and OKC trimmed Golden State’s lead to 25-21 after one quarter. The Warriors responded with a quick dose of Mo Buckets, as Marreese Speights poured in nine points in the first 4:13 of the second quarter. Speights also provided an emotional lift, demonstratively prancing around the court and exhorting the crowd to make more noise. [...] Speights picked up two quick fouls and headed back to the bench. The Warriors finally created some separation midway through the second quarter. Green whipped a great, cross-court pass to Curry to set up a three-point shot; Bogut blocked Andre Roberson’s shot in the lane; and Curry drove around and through four defenders to score on a left-handed layup.
