They dangled free medical alerts like carrots and many seniors reached for them, only to get burned. Lucille, of Colorado Springs, got a robocall a few days ago and was told AARP was offering a medical alert device and $3,000 worth of grocery coupons free. She was told to press one if she was over the age of 65, five if she wanted to accept the package, or nine if she wanted to opt out of future calls.Read more on Colorado Springs Gazette
