David Groves remembers riding toward the Dachau concentration camp near Munich like he was just there. “I remember the smell,” the 90-year-old Army veteran said Wednesday. “The odor was worse than any (meat) packinghouse I had ever smelled.”It was April 1945, the same month Groves, now a Bartow resident, turned 20, and Allied Forces were cementing their victory against the Nazis.
