There isn't a lot to celebrate today, but we'll take what we can get. America decided to marry their abusive ex again. We're all so disappointed that we've come to a place where we can't trust many other Americans. I know our readers feel despondent. We do, too. However, there is some good news on this dark day.
Donald Trump slandered the so-called Central Park Five during his ABC debate with Kamala Harris. He falsely claimed the five men had pleaded guilty to a brutal rape and assault on a woman known as the Central Park jogger, that she eventually died and that the mayor agreed with his full-page ad in The New York Times calling for the five’s execution.
Donald Trump, a former president with openly authoritarian ambitions, defeated Democratic nominee Kamala Harris less than four years after sparking a violent insurrection at the U. S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn his 2020 defeat.
Trump's 2024 victory over Harris, the U. S. vice president, was decisive: If current projections hold, Trump will sweep the seven battleground states of Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, and Nevada.
In Kenosha, Wisconsin, Democratic voters who had yard signs showing their support for Harris-Walz had received anonymous letters warning them of the consequences of voting for Kamala Harris:
Lori Hawkins, chair of the Kenosha County Democratic Party, said that people have been reporting the letters to the Kenosha Police Department. “There’s a couple different versions of it, but most people I know have gotten both of them,” Hawkins told Wisconsin Examiner.
One of the letters, images of which were shared with Wisconsin Examiner, opens with the line, “We see that you have Democrat signs on your property.” The letter asks, “are you not aware that when you die that you will be held accountable before almighty God for voting for an open border that allows millions of illegal immigrants to freely enter, many of which are felons and evil people that have been doing deadly harm and will continue to do so [?]” The letter goes on to warn that voters will be held accountable by God “for voting for communism to take over America,” ending that “we don’t want anyone going to horrible hell, but you are on a fast path to it.” read more
The 2024 Election math seems off. It looks like there are 10-15 million fewer voters after record turnout and record new registrations. Keep in mind that third-party candidates were not on the ballot in all 50 states. A Twitter user questioned the 2024 outcome:
"Something doesn't add up.
In 2020 Biden had 81 Million votes, Trump had 74 Million votes.
In 2024 Harris got 66 Million votes, Trump got 71 million votes.
15 Million Democrats decided to sit this one out?
3 Million MAGA decided to sit this one out?
No fucking way."
I'm not suggesting we put on our tinfoil hats and storm Mar-a-Lago.
The election was predicted to be close and democracy all over the world is at stake.
A haggard looking Donald Trump became belligerent with a reporter and again refused to answer if he was voting for or against Florida's abortion Amendment 4.
It was hard to decipher exactly what the reporter asked, but was in reference to Florida's six-week abortion man and the amendment that would have overturned it.
"Just stop talking about that," Trump whined.
It is a reasonable question to ask.
