Utah Governor, Gary Herbert, looked slightly bemused yesterday as he watched a representative from the New York City fly fishing shop, Urban Angler, wield a three-foot “practice” rod and walk us all through the remedial steps of casting a fly. We had gathered at the rooftop restaurant at Hudson Terrace, overlooking the boca of the Hudson River itself, which happens to empty into a harbor that remains one of the best—and most underrated—fly fishing destinations in the country.
