The Savannah-Chatham police department’s Major Accident Investigations Team responded to a serious wreck involving a pedestrian and a vehicle just after 7 a.m. Monday An unidentified female pedestrian was reportedly running between southbound and northbound lanes of traffic, for an unknown reason, on Ogeechee Road, said Darnisha Green, police spokeswoman. Roosevelt Smith, 83, was traveling in the left southbound lane when his vehicle, a Honda Civic, collided with the female pedestrian. The unidentified woman was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in critical condition.
