Two of the three finalists for the job of superintendent of Washington’s largest school district in Seattle have a Colorado Springs connection. The district’s board announced the finalists this week. Andre Spencer has been superintendent of Harrison School District 2 since January 2013 and during his tenure has helped improve academic performance and close the racial achievement gap in the Pikes Peak region’s most socio-economically diverse school district.
