MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa indeed cleared concussion protocol, as expected this week. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel announced ahead of Friday’s practice that Tagovailoa made it through the NFL’s five-step process to be cleared for game action. “After going through the process and having a practice where we were able to initiate some contact with him and he met with an independent doctor and was fully cleared,” McDaniel said. After missing the Dolphins’ past four games on injured reserve while recovering from concussion, he is set to start in Sunday’s 1 p.m.
