Trump Stays Uncharacteristically Quiet

JPMorgan Chase on Friday flatly denied that its CEO, Jamie Dimon, has endorsed Donald Trump for president, minutes after the Republican nominee claimed on social media that Dimon had endorsed him, CNBC reports.

Just Security has identified the overwhelming majority of individuals whose names have otherwise been redacted in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s 165-page brief on presidential immunity.

Washington Post: “With the nation’s economy — and much of the president’s legacy — hanging in the balance just weeks before the election, White House chief economist Lael Brainard told management that they needed to come up with a new offer to the striking longshoremen. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg stressed that Hurricane Helene magnified the importance of a deal.

“When congressional leaders decided not to call lawmakers back from the campaign trail for an emergency session to fund relief and rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Helene, they cited practical considerations,” the New York Times reports. “But there was another good reason to hold off: Congressional struggles over disaster funding, particularly with an election right around the corner, can be political disasters of their own.”

The Washington Post asked attendees of dozens of Donald Trump campaign rallies why they leave early, with a range of answers such as “other responsibilities, priorities or, sometimes, waning patience and interest.”
