A soldier admitted Tuesday he was speeding and driving drunk at more than three times the legal limit when he hit and killed Amy Stock on Henry Johnson Boulevard last summer. Stock, 48, was a college professor and freelance writer who had moved to Albany from Saratoga Springs over the summer. Amy Stock was an adjunct professor at SUNY Empire State College and a grant writer for Capital Roots in Troy. Fowler first plowed into several parked vehicles on First Street, failed to stop when police attempted to pull him over, ran a stop sign and struck Stock's Ford Focus wagon on Henry Johnson Boulevard, Albany Police Department spokesman Steve Smith has said.
