A Colorado State Patrol trooper who was hit by a car on Interstate 25 south of Castle Rock while investigating a crash on Sunday evening has died, according to state patrol. The state patrol tweeted about the incident around 9 p.m. Sunday. All lanes of the highway, around milemarker 179 just north of Larkspur, were shut down for several hours, but reopened Monday morning. Read more on Colorado Springs Gazette
