A transformer problem cut electricity to 7,800 Duke Energy customers across much of Lancaster on Wednesday morning. The outages were fixed within three hours, said Rick Jiran, Duke Energy’s vice president of community affairs. The problem disrupted numerous businesses and government offices. City Hall went dark, and the Lancaster County Economic Development Department and Lancaster County Veteran Affairs offices, both in the 1000 block of West Meeting Street, were closed.
