Pelham will represent the Texas Rangers in the Futures Game on July 15 in Washington, D.C.The game matches top prospects from each organization on two teams: World and United States. The game is part of the All-Star Game festivities.Down East manager Spike Owen pulled Taveras, considered the top position player prospect in the organization, from the game after he did not run hard on a grounder in the second inning.
