Did you ever go to the beach when you were a kid and built a giant, cool sand castle? And then you notice the tide start to come in, so you build an equally big sand wall to protect your sand castle. That never ended well. Well, that kind of reminds me of the almost weekly struggle of high school baseball and softball coaches in Clark County. In addition to teaching pitching, hitting and catching to their players, another role coaches often play is head groundskeeper. They spend much of their time dragging and raking the fields, spreading Diamond Dry, rolling out and rolling back the tarp, if they are so fortunate to have one.
