Thunder Journal: Markieff Morris Makes His Thunder Debut Agaisnt The Jazz

By Maddie LeeStaff writermlee@oklahoman.comMarkieff Morris brought the crowd at Chesapeake Energy Arena to its feet as he checked into his first game as a Thunder player just 31/2 minutes into Friday’s matchup between OKC and Utah. Thunder coach Billy Donovan wouldn’t say before the game if Morris would play at all – signing with the Thunder this week only gave him one team practice and a shootaround with the Thunder, and he had been out since late December due to a neck injury. But throwing a new player into the fold immediately was nothing new for Donovan, and when forward Jerami Grant picked up two fouls early, it was time to get a look at Morris.
