Stories Related to Three Debates Scheduled For Colorado Springs Mayoral Candidates

The Gazette -A mayoral runoff debate between Mary Lou Makepeace and John Suthers will be conducted by El Pomar Foundation's Forum for Civic Advancement and KOAA TV-5. The event, moderated by KOAA anchor Rob Quirk, will be from 6 to 7 p.m. May 5 at Penrose House Garden Pavilion, 1661 Mesa Ave., and will be live broadcast by KOAA from 6:15 to 7 p.m. The Gazette and KKTV previously announced a Makepeace-Suthers debate on April 27, moderated by KKTV anchor Don Ward and livestreamed on gazette.com and kktv.com starting at 6:29 p.m. The May 19 runoff will determine which of the candidates will succeed Mayor Steve Bach. Neither candidate won more than 50 percent of the vote in the six-candidate mayoral election April 7.
