Three cars were heavily damaged Saturday when a driver, distracted by his dog, plowed into a line of cars stopped for a red light on Route 196 in Topsham Saturday. Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Ramsey said a woman in one of the cars that was hit suffered neck pain and was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. The accident happened about 5:30 p.m. Ramsey said he did not have the name of any of the drivers Saturday evening, but said the driver who caused the crash had just gotten off Interstate 295 when his dog jumped into the front seat, distracting him.
