Albany Beer drinkers munched on giant onion rings and barbecue sliders while intently listening to Yi-Pin Lin describe the "skin chamber" his student created as a step toward ending Lyme disease. Lin held up the small plastic box that held a skin-like silicone membrane spiked with super-fine deer hair before a crowd of more than 80 gathered for the monthly meeting of Science on Tap. Lin and his listeners were undeterred even amid the din of clattering dishes, laughter and occasional shouts ricocheting off the Albany Pump Station's brick walls.
