Vehicle thefts in Colorado continued to drop in 2024 after hitting a record high in recent years, with Chevy Silverados and Hyundai Elantras still the most frequent targets, according to data released by the Colorado State Patrol on Tuesday. Metro Denver saw the most thefts — 17,174 in 2024 — as well as the biggest drop, reporting 27% fewer thefts last year. “While incidents of auto theft remain high, the efforts being made are working,” CSP leaders said Tuesday.
