Rochester Hills to host deer management gardening seminar

Rochester Hills will host a "Gardening and Landscaping with Deer" seminar on June 21. The event will take place at 7 p.m. in the city hall auditorium, 1000 Rochester Hills Drive.Participants will share techniques for managing gardens to minimize the impacts of deer. "We have many tips to share to keep your yard from becoming a critter snack," said Rochester Hills naturalist Lance DeVoe.

 

Police find body of missing Royal Oak woman, no foul play suspected

The body of a Royal Oak woman missing since Tuesday has been found and police say they don't believe another person was involved in her death. "There's no foul play suspected," Royal Oak Police Lt. Keith Spencer said Friday morning. "Her body was found near her vehicle."Holly Towery, 32, a mother of three, was living at her boyfriend Allen Reinwasser's house in Royal Oak at the time of her death.

 

Rochester Hills Public Library to host interactive story times

The Rochester Hills Public Library has partnered with the Village of Rochester Hills to offer a series of interactive story times, starting June 25 at 11 a.m. Lead by an RHPL librarian, the story times will include early literacy practices like reading, writing, talking and singing, which are designed to nurture literacy skills.

Early lung cancer detection screenings offered at McLaren Oakland

Three McLaren hospitals in the county are now offering low-dose CT scan screenings to detect early signs of lung cancer. Lung cancer is most treatable when detected early, according to the hospital, while the low-dose scan exposes the patient to less radiation than traditional scans. The low-dose scan takes about 20-seconds.

Waterford's Airway Lanes to close this month
