A judge will rule on whether to revoke probation for a former Beaumont attorney convicted of stealing from his clients after he allegedly violated his conditions dozens of times, including traveling out of state and making inappropriate comments.

A group of Beaumont ISD teachers voiced distrust in the district's leadership Thursday night, challenging administrators' pursuit of a designation that will permit exemptions from state regulations.
The board of managers voted unanimously to approve the creation of a committee that will develop a District of Innovation Plan. The group will decide what state requirements BISD will opt out of for the next five years. Once the plan is developed, it will be posted online for parents and teachers and brought again to the board for a final vote.
