Winter is coming... finally

After weeks of wearing summer clothes, but carrying around jackets and umbrellas "just in case" it looks like Houston is finally settling into the Holiday spirit, a.k.a winter weather is almost here.

 

Silsbee community joins to heal after string of tragedies

After months of tragedy and grief, Silsbee residents stood hand-in-hand on the field at Kirby Memorial Stadium on Wednesday night to mourn and heal. Since August, it's felt like one blow after the other, according to some. "The whole atmosphere was just saddened," said resident Joyce Square. "Everywhere you looked, it was just people walking around with their heads down." Tropical Storm Harvey destroyed 49 homes in Silsbee, according to City Manager DeeAnn Zimmerman. But, it was the unexpected and horrifying human losses this fall that caused the most heartache, she said.
