BROOKFIELD — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night in a three-vehicle crash on Candlewood Lake Road.

The Brookfield Accident Investigation Team (B.A.I.T) is investigating the crash between two cars and a motorcycle that also sent one of the occupants of the car to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night near 105 Candlewood Lake Road, which was closed for a few hours overnight.

Police were called to Elmer’s Diner on Padanaram Road around 2:28 a.m. after a fight broke out between Kennly Caceres, 24, and sisters Carla and Michell Morla, both 27.

The three Danbury women got into a physical fight that sent Caceres to the emergency room with bruises and scratches to her face and a bite on her left arm, police said.

The closure to new vehicles comes less than a day after the Squantz Pond swimming area was reopened by DEEP Friday afternoon, after being closed for the past week due to unsafe levels of bacteria.

NEWTOWN - Officials have confirmed that one person is dead following a boating accident that occurred on Lake Zoar late Tuesday. Dennis Schain, a spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, which overseas the state’s waterways, said the accident occurred between two boats around 9:30 p.m. in the Sandy Hook area.

DANBURY - Police have closed off Backus Avenue and the off ramp from Interstate 84 in front of the Danbury Fair Mall as a result of a two car crash in the area.

An official with the city’s fire department said two cars were involved in an accident at the intersection of Backus Avenue and the interstate off ramp. The area was closed to traffic around 10 a.m. while tow trucks were in enroute to clear the scene.

Officials said an ambulance responded to the accident but there doesn’t appear to be any major injuries.
