BRIGHTON TWP. -- The Brighton Township Tax office at 1300 Brighton Road is closed today through Thursday. Real estate taxes may be paid by mail or left in the drop box at the tax office or township building.

NEW BRIGHTON -- The office of Carol Zinsser, New Brighton borough tax collector, will be closed Thursday. Zinsser is attending a conference. The office in the borough building at 610 Third St. will reopen at 9 am. Aug. 15.

Operators of a new doctor’s office in Aliquippa that plans to treat patients for opioid addiction will meet with city leaders Monday to determine whether the facility filed proper zoning permits.

Under Pennsylvania's Civil Asset Forfeiture law, local law-enforcement agencies have seized more than $325,000 in cash during drug busts. But county officials say where that money came from isn't public record.

A few months after taking office last year, Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier decided to fully exercise the Civil Asset Forfeiture law, which permits police to seize any property that could be linked to a crime.
