Rogersville Laundry Ministry sees increased demand for donations, volunteers

ROGERSVILLE — As the Rogersville Laundry Ministry approaches its third anniversary, it is poised to surpass the number of people served in its first two years combined.
With that great success comes a greater need for volunteers and contributors — preferably volunteers who also contribute funds.
When the RLM was launched on Aug. 11, 2016, it offered one free laundry night per month from 5-7 p.m. at one laundromat.
The program, which provides money for the machines, as well as detergent if needed, eventually grew to two nights per month, then two nights at two laundromats.

Forbes thrilled with Bucs' versatility

JOHNSON CITY — Steve Forbes likes his teams to be versatile, and this one might be his most versatile one yet.
The East Tennessee State men’s basketball coach, whose team just embarked on its European trip, got 10 extra days of practice and he’s especially happy about the many different ways the Bucs can play.
“I think we have all kinds of different parts, different ways to play,” Forbes said. “We have a lot of versatility.”
To find evidence of that versatility, all you have to do is check out what Bo Hodges has been doing this summer.
