The food pantry at the Germantown Neighborhood Center says it needs more donations to help feed local families this holiday season.

Three of the five members of a special panel that is suggesting a 30 percent pay raise for Quincy’s mayor have donated to Mayor Thomas Koch’s past political campaigns.

The nonprofit company that once owned Quincy Medical Center is finally dissolving, but not without one last charitable act – and just in time for the holidays.

A car chase through Bridgewater, West Bridgewater and Brockton was the result of a car running a red light in Central Square in Bridgewater, police said. The chase has since been called off and the suspect is being searched for.

The 16th annual Feed the Hungry Gala to benefit Interfaith Social Services will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 at Granite Links Golf Club at Quarry Hills.

Peter Del Vecho went from watching $1 double features at the Strand Theater in Quincy Square to producing animated Academy Award hopefuls for Walt Disney Animation Studios. Del Vecho’s latest project is the highly-anticipated “Frozen,” which hits theaters today, and it’s already creating a swirl of Oscar buzz for best animated film.

Throughout December in the Wotiz Gallery of the Milton Public Library, enjoy an artworks exhibit by local painter and art teacher, Sue Hoy.  There will be a public reception for this exhibit on Thursday evening, December 12th from 6 to 8 PM in the gallery.  All are welcome, and the exhibit is free to the public.
