East Bridgewater police officer Joel Silva has filed a lawsuit in federal district court this week against the town and Police Chief John Cowan. Nearly four months after officer Joel Silva returned to work after being fired from his job last year, his lawyer said he is seeking “financial compensation for the money he’s lost, as well as, the emotional toll it’s taken for being out of work for over a year and losing health insurance and being unable to find employment during that time.”
