Sterlingfest midway, Kidz Tent offer thrills

A variety of big top attractions await kids of all ages at Sterlingfest, ranging from animals and circus acts to thrill rides. Sterlingfest will be held July 26, 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the newly-renovated Dodge Park and surrounding Sterling Heights city campus. Dodge Park consists of 51 acres and was re-opened to the public on June 28, which also marked the city's 50th anniversary celebration.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. >> Jim Adduci delivered a two-run double in the ninth and scored the go-ahead run on James McCann's double as the Detroit Tigers rallied for a 5-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Monday night.After Adduci's double off Brandon Maurer tied it, Jason Hamel replaced Maurer and gave up a first-pitch RBI double to McCann, his third hit, to put the Tigers ahead.

UTICA >> Braxton Morris went 2-for-4 with two hits and scored two runs as the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (15-13) defeated the Utica Unicorns (13-16), 6-2, on Sunday afternoon at Jimmy John's Field.Right-handed pitcher Mark Seyler earned the win for the Beavers, throwing 6.0 innings of work and striking out five.
