The Vanderburgh Humane Society has more than 200 cats and kittens looking for homes. The society is at capacity and offering discounts on adoptions.

 

Lloyd to close for 30 minutes at 7:30 p.m.

The Lloyd Expressway will be closed between Weinbach Avenue and Garvin Street at 7:30 p.m. tonight as crews install a new pedestrian bridge over the highway.

 

Warrant issued for man in connection to arson

Evansville police are looking for a man in connection with an arson that happened at an East Side business May 19.

According to an Evansville Police Department news release, an arrest warrant was issued Friday for Zachary L. Young, 24.

Police suspect Young stole items from Speedy Oiler at 4711 Bellemeade Avenue and started a fire before fleeing the scene. An employee arrived and found smoked in the building.

Lloyd at 41 to close at 7:30 p.m. for bridge

Evansville police are closing the Lloyd Expressway from Weinbach Avenue to Garvin Street at 7:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. to allow construction crews to set a new pedestrian bridge over the expressway east of the highway.
