A project aimed at reducing roadway congestion, traffic delays and fuel usage by coordinating critical traffic signals using self-adaptive technology across the 14 Meadowlands communities saw the addition of new intersections “ including a few in Carlstadt - by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA). Dubbed the Meadowlands Adaptive Signal System for Traffic Reduction project (MASSTR), the NJSEA took over the project when it absorbed the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (NJMC) last year. The Authority recently approved $665,000 for the additions.
