Costa CEO blames captain error for ship grounding

The captain of the cruise ship that capsized off Tuscany made an unauthorized, unapproved deviation from its programmed course, a "human error" that led to the grounding of the vessel, the chief executive of the ship's Italian owner said Monday. At least six people died in the incident.

A riverboat loaded with passengers and fuel drums caught fire and capsized in southern Congo, and 200 people were feared dead, a survivor said Sunday.

At least 138 people have drowned in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where a riverboat capsized in bad weather. Local police say the accident happened Wednesday in the western province of Bandundu, about 300 kilometers east of the capital, Kinshasa.
