Fox News Channel’s 10 to 11-ish p.m. coverage of Clint Eastwood’s debate with a chair — followed by Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech — was the country’s second-most-watched TV program last week. Romney, Eastwood & Chair finished the week trailing only Howard Stern & “America’s Got Talent” on NBC; the telecasts averaged 9.1 million viewers and 9.9 million viewers, respectively.

NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” visited Tampa, Florida, Monday night for a round of auditions that included a brass band, an escape artist and a TV theme singer. Judges Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel and Howard Stern decided which acts would go home and which would advance.

When news broke that Howard Stern was joining the "America's Got Talent" panel, there was no doubt that there would be plenty of folks who would be upset by the news. After all, the man is known for some rather raunchy stunts (Fartman, anyone?) and ... umm ... adult interviews and subject matter on his radio show over the years.
