Rumor: Google Chrome OS Tablet May Launch on Black Friday

Google is apparently planning on launching its own tablet device, but instead of relying on its already popular Android OS, this tablet will run Chrome OS. The rumor mill pegs Google's tablet launch date as November 26, which also happens to be “Black Friday" ...

Senh: It's a same. Google started building Chrome OS targeting the netbook market. Now, it seems like the iPad had stolen its thunder. It's gonna be confusing. Tablet manufacturers have already started building Android-powered tablets. Users will be confused and think that Chrome OS will be able to run apps created for Android devices. I think they might have to scrap Chrome OS eventually. It doesn't make sense to have both.

BlackBerry Tablet Coming this November? [REPORT]

BlackBerry tablet rumors continue to gain momentum, with a new report indicating that the device, possibly to be called the BlackPad, is set to hit stores this November.

Amazon Introduces $139 Kindle With Wi-Fi as It Competes With Apple's IPad

Amazon.com Inc. Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bezos cut prices and added features to the Kindle to defend it against a threat from Apple Inc. in the fast- growing market for electronic readers. Amazon introduced two new versions of the device today, including a $139 model that works with Wi-Fi. A second version, with 3G mobile technology as well as Wi-Fi to download books, costs $189. Bloomberg News reported details in May about Amazon’s plans for the Kindle, its bestselling product.

India unveils prototype of $35 tablet computer

It looks like an iPad, only it's 1/14th the cost: India has unveiled the prototype of a $35 basic touchscreen tablet aimed at students, which it hopes to bring into production by 2011.

Senh: If they can make it, it would be awesome. As long as it has internet access with 3G and Wifi, it's good enough. We'll see.

Ballmer: Windows 7 Slates Coming Soon

In an effort to counter Apple's iPad-fueled momentum in the personal computing market, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said his company plans to introduce a full range of Windows 7-based slate PCs "over the course of the next several months."

Senh: This will probably be the end of netbooks - iPad running windows 7. There's something about being able to hold onto something and moving things around with your fingers. The only drawback is typing, but I think it can be solved if Swype makes a version for tablet computers. With multi-touch being the wave of the future, I wonder if people will start developing calluses on their fingers. I'm already at that stage with my HTC HD2. I had to take a break from using Swype to type.

Senh: Whoah, before tablets running on Android even came out, it's already leading the industry? Sure, I think it will eventually because it's free, and a lot of manufacturers will use, but giving them the lead before any of the tablets have even came out is a bit premature. Right now, Apple's iPad is the leader. Microsoft has a point though. If they come out with a decent tablet computer running Windows 7, I too would prefer that over the iPad or any Android-powered device. Just being able to run any Windows software on it is a major plus.
