There's no occasion to it, and that seems about right. As far too many of us know, Jay Leno, who has been parked weeknights at 10 p.m. since September, is moving back to "The Tonight Show," the job he left at the end of May.

Much of the prime-time audience lost to NBC when Jay Leno moved into prime-time has gone not to its rivals but the digital video recorder.

Despite plenty of fanfare and early success, ratings for “The Jay Leno Show” have been in steady decline.
