Rain, floods in Philippines kill over 100

A week of relentless rains in the northern Philippines have put dozens of towns and villages under water, with more than 100 people drowned or killed by landslides, officials said on Friday. The rains were brought by Typhoon Parma.

Town in China sealed off after plague kills two

AFP - A town in a Tibetan area in northwest China has been sealed off after two of its residents died from pneumonic plague, the local government and state media said Sunday.
