Two weeks after a noted black scholar accused a white police sergeant of racial profiling for arresting him at his home near Harvard University, the men hoisted mugs of beer Thursday evening at the White House with President Obama and Vice President Biden.

The 911 caller who reported a possible break-in at the home of black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr. did not mention race in the call, according to a statement issued by her attorney.

The president said he 'could have calibrated those words differently,' referring to his comments on the arrest of Henry Louis Gates Jr. and that he has talked to arresting officer Sgt. James Crowley.
