Fox's Bill O'Reilly criticizes Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann for her comments on President Obama's White House perks.

Last April, Fox News chief Roger Ailes stood before an audience at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and declared, “[In] 15 years we have never taken a story down because it was wrong. You can’t say that about CNN, CBS or the New York Times.” The Erik Wemple Blog, among other outlets, went all archival on the guy, citing instances when Fox News had to correct itself for various falsehoods and distortions, such as vest-wearing deer, Geraldo at war and the tilting Washington Monument.

... But, as rival MSNBC was quick to point out, and BuzzFeed was quick to trumpet, Fox News had its worst prime time ratings in the coveted 25-54 demographic since August 2001, and its lowest total day ratings since June 2008.

Fox News says it has fired an associate producer after learning he was the "Fox Mole" hired by the news blog Gawker. The network said Joe Muto, who worked on "The O'Reilly Factor" and said he had been working at Fox News since 2004, was identified and fired. Fox said it was "continuing to explore legal recourse against Mr. Muto and possibly others."

Rick Santorum accused Fox News of "shilling" for Mitt Romney during an interview with Fox's Brian Kilmeade on Tuesday morning."The man has had a ten-to-one money advantage," Santorum said of Romney on the radio show "Kilmeade & Friends.""He's had all the organizational advantage. He has Fox News shilling for him every day -- no offense, Brian, but I see it -- and yet, he can't seal the deal because he just doesn't have the goods to be able to motivate the Republican base and win this election."

Unless it’s a tea party rally, Fox News and American protests don’t seem to mix well. Host Geraldo Rivera decided to go down to the Occupy Wall Street protests Sunday afternoon and ended up having an unpleasant experience. Protesters immediately surrounded Rivera and his network’s cameras and began shouting “Fox News Lies!” After a few minutes, Rivera decided to leave. His departure was cheered by protesters, who sang “Hey, hey, hey, goodbye!”

Glenn Beck said goodbye to Fox News Channel on Thursday, airing his final show before going into business for himself. He told his fans that he was determined "to his last breath" to fix this country....

Fox News Channel has terminated the contracts of paid contributors and potential 2012 candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, a spokesman for the network confirmed to CNN. Contracts for the former House Speaker and former Pennsylvania senator were suspended until May 1 while they considered runs for the White House in 2012. Santorum, who will appear in Thursday's GOP presidential debate in South Carolina, has since formed a presidential exploratory committee....
