Head of Fox Film Unit to Step Down

The co-chairman and co-chief executive of News Corp.'s NWSA +1.27% Fox Filmed Entertainment, Tom Rothman, will step down at the end of the year, he and the company said Friday. "I love Fox and all of you," Mr. Rothman said in an internal email. Following Mr. Rothman's departure, the film unit will be led by Jim Gianopulos, currently his fellow co-chairman and co-CEO. Mr. Gianopulos, who has led alongside Mr. Rothman since 2000, will assume sole possession of those titles.

 

News Corp. Digital Chief to Resign

News Corp. Chief Digital Officer Jon Miller will step down from his position as the company prepares to split its media and entertainment business from its publishing assets.

News Corp. said Thursday that chief digital officer Jonathan Miller would leave his job in September. Miller will stay on as an outside advisor through fall 2013. He took the role in 2009, focusing on both distribution and international investments, while also serving as the News Corp. representative on the board of Hulu.

 

Dow Jones President Resigns

The president of Dow Jones, Todd Larsen, resigned Tuesday after more than two years on the job and 13 years at the company. No reason was given for his departure. Dow Jones is the unit News Corp. that publishes The Wall Street Journal.

News Corp is considering promoting Chief Operating Officer Chase Carey to the position of CEO to succeed Rupert Murdoch, who would remain as chairman, Bloomberg reported on Monday.
