Ohio man sentenced to death for Craigslist plot

A self-styled street preacher was sentenced to death Thursday in the killings of three down-and-out men lured by bogus job offers posted on Craigslist. The jury that convicted Richard Beasley of murder recommended that he face execution. The judge had the option of reducing the sentence to life in prison.

A Norwegian court ruled Friday that far-right gunman Anders Behring Breivik was sane, deciding he was criminally responsible for the massacre of 77 people last summer.

 

Blagojevich Sentencing Set for Dec. 6

Ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is scheduled to be sentenced on his multiple corruption charges Dec. 6. The new date appeared on a federal court website Monday. In September, Judge James Zagel had indefinitely delayed an Oct. 6 sentencing date for Blagojevich — apparently because it would have conflicted with a related trial.
