In China, two sentenced to death in milk-tampering case

They were scapegoats in a failed product-safety system, says a lawyer for some of the nearly 300,000 babies sickened by tainted formula.

Parents of babies sickened by formula in China's largest food-tampering scandal vowed Thursday to continue their legal fight over compensation after a court sentenced two men to death in the case and handed down stiff sentences to others.

 

Chinese Parents Reject Tainted-Milk Settlement

The parents, who children were sickened by tainted milk, say they will press for long-term health care for the victims, and demand medical research into the illnesses.
