Apple reports $3.25 billion profit on strong iPhone sales

Apple on Tuesday reported a $3.25 billion profit for its fiscal third quarter of 2010.

Senh: Very impressive. I wonder how the recent iphone 4 antenna issues affected sales. Still, gotta give it to Steve Jobs. The guy just keeps on creating one innovative product after another.

iPad Saves Bookbinder

iPad Saves Bookbinder

How a San Francisco start-up revived an old art form with the help of Apple's newest innovation. It almost seems backwards. A bookbinding business thriving not only in a down economy, but in the new age where Amazon’s Kindle, the iPad and other digital reading platforms are becoming a more popular way to consume information versus print.

Senh: Very cool. If I buy an iPad, I would buy one of these cases. Hell, I might buy an iPad just so I can stick it in one of these cases. The bookbinding business owner said he lost most of his business to overseas companies in the 80's and 90's, and the iPad is saving them. You can't help but think for how long? Once this becomes popular, it's just a matter of time before China starts mass producing them for a cheaper price.

RIM says Apple claims about BlackBerry unacceptable

RIM says Apple claims about BlackBerry unacceptable

Apple Inc appears to be deliberately distorting the issues surrounding the iPhone 4's antenna design by asserting that Research In Motion's BlackBerry has similar reception problems, RIM said.

Apple Offers Free Cases to Address iPhone Issue

Apple Offers Free Cases to Address iPhone Issue

Steven P. Jobs, chief executive of Apple, acknowledged Friday that the company’s iPhone 4 had some problems with its antenna but said the same problems affected all smartphones and had been widely exaggerated by the media.

Senh: I like Steve Jobs, but I'm not sure if this is gonna do it. Will these bumper cases help with the reception problems? It's turning into a he-said/she-said type of thing. Jobs is not denying that there's a reception problem, but he says that all smartphones have that problem. I don't think this is the response that people are looking for. Meanwhile, the Droid X is sold out.

How FaceTime Will Work with iPod Touch, iPad

It’s been widely assumed that Apple will start to roll out their FaceTime real-time communication protocol to more and more of their mobile devices (and possibly their computers), but until now, we’ve been in the dark on how this will actually work. After all, there are no phone numbers to call on an iPod touch or iPad...

Droid X Sells Out Despite Verizon Preparation

Droid X Sells Out Despite Verizon Preparation

The Motorola Droid X is sold out online and in certain parts of the country at retail Verizon and Best Buy stores, despite Verizon Wireless' insistence on Wednesday that it would have plenty of the phones in stock. You will now have to wait until July ...

Senh: I'm sure the recent problems that the iPhone 4's been having helped. This is Droid's time to shine. Well, it's already the best-selling android phone, so it's time for them to shine brighter. Interesting how they haven't rolled out any ads attacking iPhone 4's antenna problems. Also, android-powered phones like the HTC Evo and Droid Incredible have been selling out. These companies are underestimating these phones' demand.

iOS 4.0.1 Available Now! Improves the iPhone's Bar Signal

The iOS 4.0.1 update that "improves" the way the iPhone displays signal strength is out now. According to the release note, that's about all it does.

Senh: Hopefully, that's not what Steve Jobs is announcing tomorrow at the conference.
