Keith Olbermann Settles $50 Million Lawsuit Against Current TV and Al Gore

Keith Olbermann’s legal war against Al Gore, Joel Hyatt and Current TV is olber. Um, over. The perennially prickly anchor has reportedly settled the $50 million lawsuit he filed upon his termination from Current one year ago. Deadline Hollywood says Olbermann will walk away with a “significant payout,” but the exact amount won’t be known until someone leaks it.

(Reuters) - Al Gore's Current TV has bigger problems to deal with than a potential lawsuit from fired news anchor Keith Olbermann - namely not getting kicked off Time Warner Cable for low ratings.

Current TV's co-founders, including former Vice President Al Gore, announced Friday that the network has ousted its highest-profile on-air personality, Keith Olbermann. "Current was also founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers," Gore and Joel Hyatt wrote in an "open letter" to viewers on Current's website. "Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it."
