By far, StumbleUpon has been the most effective sharing button

I'm finding that StumbleUpon has been the most effective social button on the site. I've been consistently sharing my blog entires on StumbleUpon and other content sharing sites like Digg, Reddit, Twitter, Linkedin, +1, Facebook, and maybe a couple other ones. It's mostly a waste of time except for StumbleUpon.

With Zynga IPO Looming, CEO Mark Pincus Wants Employees To Return Stock

Zynga CEO Mark Pincus wants some of the online game company's early employees to give back stock they own ahead of the company's initial public offering of stock, according to a published report Thursday. The Wall Street Journal said that Pincus, who gave out stock freely to keep top talent early on, developed "giver's remorse."

Senh: There's nothing much you can do about that. They got in early and contributed when it counted most. It's not fair to current employees of Zynga, but they're also not risking as much as the early group of people.

 

Google Plus is Doomed

The real test of Google’s social network is what people do after they join. As far as anyone can tell, they aren’t doing a whole lot. Traffic-analysis firms have consistently reported Google+’s traffic to be declining from its early peak. Even Google’s own executives seem to have gotten bored by the site.

Senh: I agree with most of what the article says about Google+ because, unlike Forbes, I actually tried it out. And early on, I found that I have no use for it. It became a ghost town within a month. The only stuff there now are people's twitter feeds. The only thing that I'm using it for now is to +1 Wopular's articles for SEO. I'll probably also create a Wopular page, but I'm not sure how effective it'll be when no one's actually using it.

Senh: I don't think he should speak so condescendingly of Google+. Sure, I don't really believe it since my friends have pretty much abandoned it like Google Buzz. People initially didn't think much of Chrome's impact on the browser wars either, but it's now tied with Firefox as the second most used web browser. You just gotta be careful when Google decides to focus on something.

Senh: Now that Twitter's doing celebrity endorsements in-house, what's gonna happen to third-party apps that do the same, like Izea, Ad.ly and twtMob? They'll probably take a hit now that celebs can go directly to Twitter. Depending on how big Twitter's ad sales team is, the third-party clients will probably end up getting their leftovers.

Senh: I've noticed this on Wopular too. I've seen pro-Republican articles retweeted more often than their rival party's. Democrats don't seem to care, at least on this site. I think they were being a bit too complacent.

Senh: Let's see if they can keep this going. Most of my friends have already abandoned it. The only ones who are still using it are just pimping their products. Google+ is a nice product - clean, sleak, and intuitive. The only problem is most of my friends are on Facebook, and they don't want to leave for a similar service. Google+ still needs a more compelling reason - kinda like when Facebook first opened up their API to developers.
