Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy is expected on Thursday to sign a tough new gun law that restricts sales of the sort of high-capacity ammunition clips that a gunman used to massacre 26 people in minutes in a December attack on a school.

An explanation still hasn't emerged for why a man killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School, but it does appear that he attended the school as a youngster, Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy told NBC News on Sunday.

Following pleas from victims' relatives and others, politicians and some journalists are refraining from naming the Colorado theater shooting suspect.
