A federal judge in San Francisco on Friday denied Barry Bonds’s request to drop his obstruction of justice conviction, upholding that jury verdict and also rejecting Bonds’s request for a new trial on that charge.

A U.S. jury convicted Barry Bonds on Wednesday of one count of obstructing justice but deadlocked on three other charges of whether baseball's home run king lied to a grand jury investigating the use of steroids in sports.
