Hackers compromised Twitter accounts of The Associated Press on Tuesday, sending out a false tweet about an attack at the White House.

Hackers apparently broke into at least two of North Korea's government-run online sites Thursday, as tensions rose on the Korean Peninsula. The North's Uriminzokkiri Twitter and Flickr accounts stopped sending out content typical of that posted by the regime in Pyongyang, such as photos of North's leader Kim Jong Un meeting with military officials.

Twitter said it had detected "sophisticated" unauthorized attempts to access information from the short-messaging service used by more than 200 million people.

Anonymous, a hacker group sympathetic to WikiLeaks, plans to release e-mails obtained from Bank of America Corp early Monday morning, according to posts on the group's Twitter feed.

NASA briefly broke with the standard space jibber jabber, jammed on the cap locks, and began alerting its followers with repeated messages about "BRAND NEW PLASMA FLAT SCREEN TV!!! WHOLESALE LIST!"

A 25-year-old unemployed Frenchman has been arrested for hacking into the Twitter accounts of President Barack Obama and Britney Spears, the pop star.
