Fox News poll: Obama leads Romney in presidential race and on a broad array of issues and character traits

As I’ve said here on numerous occasions, my favorite polls usually are those sponsored by Fox News — simply because conservatives can’t so easily shoot them down as politically biased... The latest Fox poll is bad news for Mitt Romney in many more ways than simply Barack Obama’s lead of five percentage points in the presidential race. To wit, the incumbent Democrat also leads his Republican challenger in the following categories among likely voters...

Fox News Channel’s 10 to 11-ish p.m. coverage of Clint Eastwood’s debate with a chair — followed by Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech — was the country’s second-most-watched TV program last week. Romney, Eastwood & Chair finished the week trailing only Howard Stern & “America’s Got Talent” on NBC; the telecasts averaged 9.1 million viewers and 9.9 million viewers, respectively.

Fox News Channel's morning show on Wednesday twice aired a nearly four-minute video that contrasted President Barack Obama's words with negative statistics about his administration in a format that looked similar to a campaign advertisement.

Fox News Channel has terminated the contracts of paid contributors and potential 2012 candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, a spokesman for the network confirmed to CNN.
