Google Blasts Apple Over iPhone Ad Changes

Google Blasts Apple Over iPhone Ad Changes

Google blasted Apple's new rules for its iPhone and iPad operating system, saying the changes would prohibit application developers from using Google's advertising technology on the devices.

Senh: Whoah, I didn't know you can do that. Isn't this very clearly anti-competition - demanding that developers can only use their ad network, and no one elses? Fun times ahead his Apple vs. Google boxing match.

Microsoft Rejects Google's Lead in Tablets

A top Microsoft Corp. executive voiced confidence that the company's software will prove dominant in the burgeoning market for tablet personal computers, saying the company offers better support for manufacturers than rival Google ...

Senh: Whoah, before tablets running on Android even came out, it's already leading the industry? Sure, I think it will eventually because it's free, and a lot of manufacturers will use, but giving them the lead before any of the tablets have even came out is a bit premature. Right now, Apple's iPad is the leader. Microsoft has a point though. If they come out with a decent tablet computer running Windows 7, I too would prefer that over the iPad or any Android-powered device. Just being able to run any Windows software on it is a major plus.

HTC Countersues Apple

HTC, the maker of several phones that run on Google's Android platform, has sued Apple for patent infringement, in response to a suit that the iPhone maker filed against HTC weeks ago.

Senh: Now, we're talking. HTC started making cell phones long before Apple came into the scene with the iPhone. So did Nokia, who also counter-sued Apple recently. We'll see who has more lawyer power. At least the lawyers are happy.

Google Inc. is in talks with Verizon Wireless to develop a tablet computer that would compete with Apple Inc.'s hit iPad. The tablet will run on Google's Android operating system ...

Senh: Google: "Whatever you can do, I can do better." Interesting that it's gonna run on Android rather than the Chrome operating system that they were building for netbooks. Will Microsoft follow suit and create a tablet to be run on Windows Mobile 7?
