China on Friday called for patience and diplomatic efforts with Iran to address Teheran's nuclear ambitions, with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jieche saying negotiations with the Islamic republic have "entered a crucial stage."

Chinese companies accused of selling missile technology to Iran have managed to get around a U.S. trade ban, with millions of dollars worth of goods from these companies shipped to the United States, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.

The Obama administration is imposing sanctions on several Chinese, Iranian and North Korean companies for violating arms export regulations governing missile technology and other proliferation activities.
